Pound to euro: EURGBP exchange rate falls offers the potential for buying opportunities say UniCredit

But with the latest gains for the EURGBP have investors missed the boat?
The Pound to Euro exchange rate is 0.76% lower at 1.1922, the Euro to Pound rate is at 0.8388.
As expected, UK GDP for 4Q11 proved quite disappointing, but the weaker USD across the board still offered sterling great support.

"The pound dollar exchange rate should struggle mostly at around 1.5650 for now, while euro to pound exchange rate is offering new buying-on-dips opportunities in the 0.8350/0.83 band," says a morning exchange rate note from UniCredit.
The euro has found strength following a very dovish Federal Reserve stance which again lifted the key EURUSD pair.
"But this pair still seems reluctant to rally above October’s low at 1.3145 and towards the next target at 1.3210, as frustration about the standstill of Greek debt talks still represents a drag. Choppy trading will remain in place today," say UniCredit.
Elsewhere, markets will also be focussing on development in Davos.
Speaking yesterday at the World Economics Forum in Davos, George Soros castigated Eurozone leaders for their perceived "lack of understanding of how financial markets work," and stated that harsh austerity is hopeless when growth is needed: "The trouble is that the austerity that Germany wants to impose will push Europe into a deflationary spiral."
Portugal's borrowing costs rocketed to insatiable levels; 3-year debt yields reached 19.4% and 10-year bond yields reached 14.6%.
Following Soros' remarks the Euro to US Dollar Exchange Rate dropped a cent falling below 1.300, but managed to rally back up to 1.316 (10:36 GMT) when the US Fed speech took centre stage
