The Virgin Spreader chronicles my journey into the world of spread betting.
This spreadbetting blog starts from day one of a novice spreadbetting career. I intend to hunt down as much advice on spread betting as possible, talk to as many professional spread betters as possible and develop a winning spread betting strategy. And I will write it all down here. If you have anything you would like to contribute PLEASE get in touch!INSIGHT

This morning I received an email - as is often the case now since these articles are reaching a larger audience - from someone inquiring about how best to go about advertising their spread betting system. As most people that trade the markets and financial spread bet will know there is a large and diverse selection of spread betting and forex trading systems out there. With an often quoted figure of a 95% long term fail rate in spread betting there is clearly a market for fail proof spread betting systems - which all claim to be. The chap who got in touch with me said he had devised a system to help his son, who it appears, got a little addicted to spread betting. Addiction implies an emotional element would have come into his trading; and if the Virgin Spreader has learnt anything it is that emotions are your quickest route to spread betting failure. The person also realised this - and as a result - worked out a system for his son to follow. Apparently the son is no longer into spread betting but the system is a winner, and is available. I was asked how best to go about getting exposure for the system, and if it would be worth doing so. I replied that if it is a winner then you have struck gold and it would indeed be rewarding to make money by helping people out. I also told him to lose the £200 price tag. Most of you that do use a spread betting or forex trading system will agree £200 is a bit steep. I got a response saying that is not probably not worth the effort, and that he would let it be. Intriguing. Here is someone who has claimed to have developed a winning system but he is content to just sit on it. He doesn't even spread bet or trade. This game throws up something new every day.... needless to say I will try and find out more about this winning system. Stay in touch. |
